Welcome to Ericsson in Frankfurt. We are one of Germany‘s three leading Ericsson research and development (R&D) sites. Founded in 1990, we employ around 170 R&D experts from more than 30 countries today. We are driving innovation in many areas, especially focusing on the 6 main areas described below.

Software development
Resilient and manageable software is our DNA.
Business Support Systems (BSS)
We bring in core competence in the area of BSS, primarily focusing on Billing, Finance, Taxation and Partner Management (roaming and interconnect).
Customer value
We enable communication service providers (CSPs) to launch and monetize new services.
Cloud Native journey
Our technical leaders contribute as Product Managers, Chief Architects, System Managers and Developers. They have a strong representation in our Technology Evolution teams and drive the BSS Cloud Native Journey and Software Delivery Pipeline forward.
Blockchain
We have accumulated expertise in the Blockchain area, especially when it comes to the different key platforms (Hyperledger, Etherium) and development of smart contracts. We own several Blockchain patents.
Collaboration
We have created an eco-system to collaborate with universities, government institutions, technology start-ups and innovation hubs in the Rhein-Main area.
