“It is ok if an attempt isn’t successful for the first time, you can just try again.”

Meet Balázs Tárnok, an electrical engineering student from Hungary.
Balázs Tárnok - Ericsson Intern

What do you do here at Ericsson?

I’m in the research team and a few of us are working on the Agile Robotics for Industrial Automation Competition (ARIAC) project that consists of order fulfillment in a simulated shipping container.

Tell us about your typical day?

Every morning while on public transportation, I like to plan my tasks for the day, deciding what all stuff I should kick off with. I arrive at office at about at 10 AM and start off with having a cup of coffee. Most of the time I work on my own, while solving the tasks one step in a time. Two or three times every day, we sit down and discuss the problems with our mentors and the other interns. We usually go for lunch together, which is also a great opportunity to socialize and share ideas about our work and learn lots from more experienced colleagues. People here are super helpful, creating a really positive atmosphere for all of us. I usually leave the office between 5-6 PM with the last thing I do is to mark down what work I’ve completed during the day.

What do you know now that you didn’t know before?

I didn’t know that Ericsson employs so many interns. I even met friends from my university.

Where do you get your inspiration from?

My friends. Spending time with them fills me up with positive feelings. We are all in similar places in life and it’s great to see them growing, it really motivates me too.

Any final words?

At the university, we always had to learn the proper answers for a problem. In the research team, I feel we must figure out the solutions from the basics. It is ok if an attempt isn’t successful for the first time, you can just try again.
