What do you do here at Ericsson?
I’m working in Cloud research unit, with a cognitive orchestration project, using machine learning to optimize orchestration tasks.
Tell us about your typical day?
I wake up and get ready, eat some breakfast and then take the metro and bus to work. First thing I do is log on to my computer and check emails to see if there’s anything new. Sometimes I have tasks left from the day before and I continue with them. The tasks are mostly coding, running tests, analyzing data, and documentation. Otherwise I discuss with my teammates about what’s going on and what has to be done next. At 11:30 AM we go for lunch and afterward , we often take a walk outside to get some fresh air before getting back to work. Sometimes there are meetings in the afternoon where the progress of the project is discussed, and you can present any questions or issues we have had. We sometimes leave tests running during the night and I make a list of things to remember the next day.
Have you been given any career advice you feel will be useful in your future career?
I can’t think of a specific advice but working together at Ericsson with many different people has given me a good picture of what a career in my field can look like.
What do you know now that you didn’t know before?
Before starting my Internship at Ericsson, I didn’t know a lot about Ericsson as a company. Since then I’ve gotten an understanding of what Ericsson is all about and the different areas Ericsson works with worldwide.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
Most things around me. I’m a person that gets easily excited by all the possibilities out there. The field of computer science is really inspiring to me and knowing that it’s a tool with which you can do mostly anything is exciting!
Any final word?
I really think it’s a great opportunity to be working at Ericsson. I’ve had a great time working together with my team and doing progress in our projects.
