Ericsson Cloud Manager wins 2015 LTE Asia Award

Ericsson Cloud Manager recognized as Best NFV Innovation of the Year. Cloud management system is an important component to allow operators to realize revenues from new services driven by LTE and NFV, as well as cost savings from more efficient operations.

Ericsson (NASDAQ:ERIC) today announced that Ericsson Cloud Manager won the LTE Asia Award for Best NFV Innovation of the Year as part of Informa Telecoms & Media’s LTE Asia Conference in Singapore. The LTE Asia Awards celebrate the triumphs and innovations of the LTE and 5G market in Asia.

Ericsson Cloud Manager enables the creation, orchestration, activation, and monitoring of services running on virtualized IT and programmable network resources at consistent levels of quality. With Ericsson Cloud Manager cloud resources are no longer confined to a single data center, but rather are spread throughout the network, to help improve both internal operations and service quality.

Ericsson Cloud Manager enables operators to realize revenues from new services as well as cost savings from more efficient operations – even for existing services. This cloud management system provides the speed, agility, and accuracy needed to deliver higher levels of innovation (and related service quality) at the lowest cost possible.

Ericsson Cloud Manager is currently being deployed with Japanese operator NTT DOCOMO, INC. NTT DOCOMO will leverage Cloud Manager for its network virtualization platform and cloud-based virtualized evolved packet core (EPC) network for the commercial deployment in a multi-vendor environment. Ericsson Cloud Manager and Ericsson Cloud Execution Environment will support NTT DOCOMO with enhanced flexibility of network deployments and operations to improve its efficiency, speed up new and innovative service introduction, and increase network resilience. Ericsson Cloud Manager is deployed in several additional proof-of-concept initiatives and commercial operations with over a dozen Tier 1, 2 and 3 operators from around the world.
