Changing behavior to create sustainable energy consumption
Smart grids, renewable energy resources and an innovative service enablement platform are being used to develop smart-energy homes in Stockholm, Sweden, where users can interactively influence their energy consumption. Anders Nilsson from KTH, the Royal Institute of Technology, shares his experiences as part of the Stockholm Royal Seaport Smart City Energy project.
Ericsson wins three Asia Mobile Awards
Ericsson won three awards in two categories at the Asia Mobile Awards (AMOs) ceremony held on the sidelines of Mobile World Congress Shanghai on June 28. The AMOs are the sister awards to the mobile industry’s leading GLOMO Awards, and are judged by a panel of independent experts.
GAA names Ericsson as Official Technology Partner
The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), Ireland’s largest and most influential sporting and cultural organization, has appointed Ericsson as its Official Technology Partner. Ericsson will advise the GAA on all ICT-related matters and optimize mobile connectivity at the Croke Park stadium in Dublin to bring fans closer to the action.

AT&T launches 5G trial with DIRECTV NOW in Austin
On June 27, AT&T launched its second fixed wireless 5G trial together with Ericsson and Intel in Austin, Texas. Using Ericsson’s 5G radio access network (RAN) and the Intel 5G Mobile Trial Platform, AT&T is delivering an ultra-fast internet connection to residential, small business and enterprise locations. Trial participants get access to faster broadband services and can stream live TV via DIRECTV NOW over a fixed wireless 5G signal.
