      Education in humanitarian context

Events such as conflicts and natural disasters disrupt the education of more than 75 million children and young people across the globe.

These young people are often deprived of the basic right to education and the chance to fulfill their full potential. The facts are stark: children in conflict-affected countries are half as likely to complete lower-secondary school. Among refugee adolescents, only 22 percent are in lower-secondary school and just 1 percent attend university – compared to the global rate of 34 percent.

Ericsson supports the provision of quality education in humanitarian contexts through its engagements with organizations like the Whitaker Peace and Development Initiative.
