Ericsson starts trials for its Zero Site solution in Santander, the first deployment in Spain. Zero Site integrates small cells with streetlamps to provide optimal urban mobile broadband coverage with minimal visual impact. The solution, jointly developed by Ericsson and Philips, addresses two major issues facing cities across the globe: the fast pace of urbanization and the challenge faced by operators and utilities in acquiring sites in dense areas.
