Ericsson awarded new 3G contract from TeliaSonera and Tele2 joint venture Svenska UMTS-Nät

3G operator Svenska UMTS-Nät AB, the joint venture between Tele2 and TeliaSonera, has awarded Ericsson a new three-year frame agreement for the delivery of core and radio access network. Under the agreement, Ericsson will continue to secure multi-vendor network integration between the shared 3G network and the respective 2G networks of Tele2 and TeliaSonera.

During CTIA Wireless 2005 in New Orleans, Ericsson is demonstrating 11 Mbps high-speed data downloads and streaming applications over HSDPA phase 2 and a live WCDMA system. HSDPA, phase 2, increases the WCDMA system capacity and allow for peak rates up to 14 Mbps.

Ericsson to provide WCDMA system for U.S. Navy MUOS program

Ericsson, the world leader in mobile communications, has signed an agreement with General Dynamics to supply WCDMA wireless equipment and telecom services in support of the U.S. Navy contract awarded to Lockheed Martin to build the Mobile User Objective System (MUOS).
