Nextel selects Ericsson for digital transformation project to improve customer experience

Ericsson (NASDAQ: ERIC) and Nextel have signed an extensive operations support system/business support system (OSS/BSS) deal that provides seamless access to the latest Ericsson software innovations, features and services.

As a result of the agreement, Nextel can deliver an improved customer experience to its mobile subscribers in Brazil. Through Ericsson's unique Billing and Revenue Management solutions, Nextel will have a real-time convergent charging and customer care system that will enable the operator to offer differentiated experiences to customers with optimized operations.

With Ericsson's solutions, Nextel customers will be able to benefit from the advantages of a fully integrated and convergent environment with higher level of flexibility and shorter time-to-market for new and updated offerings. Customers will experience enhanced billing flexibility and capabilities to try out new services easily.

The deal includes a range of Ericsson products, including Ericsson Charging and Billing in One, Ericsson Multiservice Delivery Platform and Ericsson Telecom CRM, with Ericsson serving as prime integrator.

Services provided by Ericsson under the agreement include solution design, project management, technology consultancy, service enablement, business configuration, development and customization, solution integration and verification, and load testing and acceptance.
