Ericsson Intelligent Automation Platform plays a key role in improving network performance and enhancing customer experience while delivering operational savings through industrial scale automation in the radio access network.

The Ericsson Intelligent Automation Platform is Ericsson’s open network management and automation platform for, multi-vendor and multitechnology networks, supporting all 4G and 5G Radio Access Networks (RAN). It includes a non-Real Time RAN Intelligent Controller (RIC) and an open SDK that allows CSPs and third parties to deploy rApps supporting automation across the entire network lifecycle. EIAP supports a vibrant ecosystem of rApps touching the complete lifecycle of network Automation.

The Ericsson Intelligent Automation Platform has 3 main components:

Non-Real-Time-RAN Intelligent Controller (Non-RT-RIC)
Within the SMO framework, the RAN intelligent controller, or RIC, is a new end-to-end automation solution which manages and orchestrates software applications and algorithms that optimize network performance. Ericsson implements the Non-RT-RIC with the Ericsson Intelligent Controller (EIC)

Operation and Maintenance
Ericsson Network Manager (ENM) is a unified, open, and multivendor network manager providing operations and management for purpose built and Open RAN networks

Resource Orchestration
Lifecycle management of network functions and cloud infrastructure automating Open RAN cloud management with the Ericsson Orchestrator (EO)
