Manufacturing in India

Ericsson established its first vendor-led production in India in 1994. In partnership with Jabil in Pune, we manufacture 5G radios, RAN Compute, advanced passive antennas, and microwave products to meet the needs of India’s rapidly expanding 5G deployments. Additionally, with VVDN, we are expanding our local manufacturing footprint in India with antenna production, positioning India as a strategic hub for innovation.

Design in India

With our state-of-the-art ASIC development facility in Bengaluru, we are strengthening our R&D footprint in India and leveraging the country’s deep technology expertise to advance our semiconductor design capabilities. This facility is set to be a catalyst for innovation and play a pivotal role in accelerating India’s semiconductor ecosystem. R&D in India

Ericsson’s India operations are a strategic global innovation hub, with R&D centres in Chennai, Bengaluru, and Gurugram advancing next-generation technologies such as AI, 6G, and semiconductor design.

Collaborations with partners like Volvo and Airtel explore the potential of XR, Digital Twins, and AI in manufacturing, while partnerships with leading Indian institutions, including IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and the Indian Statistical Institute, are helping build scalable compute and responsible AI foundations for inclusive and secure 6G networks.
