Ericsson pioneers Cloud RAN call with newest HPE ProLiant Compute Gen12 Server and Intel Xeon 6 SoC
Ericsson has successfully completed a Cloud RAN 5G call using the HPE ProLiant Compute DL110 Gen12 server, powered by Intel Xeon 6 or system-on-chip (SoC). The achievement marks another step in the evolution and industrialization of Open RAN, enabling communications service providers (CSPs) to deploy high-performing, scalable, and efficient networks built on open, cloud-native infrastructure powered by Red Hat technologies.
TDC NET and Ericsson achieves industry first certification from TM Forum of Level 4 Autonomy
- TM Forum has verified Ericsson’s achievement of Level 4 Autonomy in a telecom scenario, the first such verification globally.
- Ericsson’s Predictive Cell Energy Management solution achieved the validation for a scenario to automate RAN Energy Efficiency Optimization. The solution has been in production on the TDC NET network since May 2024, as part of the Managed Service contract in Denmark.
- This is the first validation of Level 4 Autonomy under TM Forum’s new ANLAV scheme, a significant industry milestone as it collectively moves towards the era of autonomous networks
