Ericsson and RDK Management LLC announce MediaFirst TV Platform integration onto RDK

Paves way for seamless IP-based TV delivery supported by Ericsson’s MediaFirst cloud-first approach. Enables TV operators adopting RDK, a powerful cloud-based TV Platform to expand capabilities above and beyond consumers’ expectations. To date, more than 275 technology companies have joined the RDK community, including CE manufacturers, SoC vendors, software developers, system integrators, and TV service providers.

Among smartphone users globally, two in five face more than 11 issues at least weekly, twice as likely to consider switching operators. Ericsson transfers parts of 2g and 3g development to Combitech

Ericsson has signed an agreement with technology consultancy firm Combitech, for a transfer of Ericsson’s 2G and 3G development units in Linköping and Gothenburg, Sweden. Ericsson remains committed to its 2G and 3G portfolio but will consolidate development of these technologies to fewer sites, in line with its R&D strategy. The agreement is expected to be effective October, 2016, and approximately 300 employees will transfer from Ericsson to Combitech.
