November 19 is International Men's Day, an opportunity to confirm that diversity at Ericsson embraces all. Gender equality will never be possible without equal focus on both genders. We want a constructive dialogue, to extend our network of role models and to confirm that equality is not a "women's issue". Join us!

Recognizing International Men's Day

In our recognition of International Men’s Day, we are planning three global activities, in addition to the many local activations:

Ericsson is encouraging employees to participate in the grassroot Movember movement. The Movember Foundation is a global charity raising funds and awareness for men’s health. If you are not familiar with it, perhaps you will recognize its main trademark – the growing of moustaches throughout the month of November?

We are encouraging all capable of growing moustaches to do so, and will be monitoring our progress through our Ericsson fundraiser page. Ericsson employees with the highest donations and the most votes for best moustache at the end of November, will be recognized globally as our honorary winners.

“What it means to be a man today”

Ericsson employees across the globe, both men and women, will have their say on video, asked to elaborate on how it has changed; are/were fathers’/grandfathers’ lives different than the lives of men today? Are we breaking stereotypes or still at status quo? What are the biases toward men, and how can they be minimized? Individuals willing to share their stories will be highlighted on our social media channels; keep an eye out for our updates!

“Wear Blue Day”

November 21 (as International Men’s Day is on a Saturday this year) will be “Wear Blue Day” at Ericsson. This is an open invitation to our Ericsson teams, organizations, units, group of colleagues (men and women, of course) to share pictures of themselves all dressed in blue in recognition of “Blue Ribbon” campaigns linked to men’s health.
