Network Planning helps communications service providers transform their network. Service providers are continuously challenged with the need to evolve their networks to be able to cope with latest technologies and customer demands. Ericsson Cognitive Planning software provides the ability to perform proactive planning based on traffic forecasts in combination with AI-powered predictions of utilization and user experience KPIs.

Network Design helps service providers engineer their network and meet their desired quality of services targets. Leveraging on large-scale resources like crowd-sourced experience data or geo-located network trace data, our Cognitive Design software provides optimum network configurations to improve application coverage and end user experiences.

Network Tuning helps service providers efficiently tune their newly deployed network to meet the target QoS. The Cognitive Tuning software assists the engineers when a new network is installed, or when new features are activated. During this period, radio network functionality and operation is measured and adjusted. Cognitive Tuning software performs these actions using driveless techniques, which can also be applied after launch, to improve network performance. Cognitive Tuning software not only reduces the need for costly drive testing, but also reduces the amount of CO2 emissions in the environment.

Network Optimization helps service providers prepare their network and meet optimal performance points for their relevant business metrics (video experience, VoLTE performance, network benchmarking events, etc). Cognitive Optimization software also enables the performance RAN troubleshooting based on the correlation of CM and PM information. Additionally, the AI-powered classification of cell issue patterns is also available through deep learning models, as well as uplink interference pattern recognition. Root Cause Analysis and the correlation of network data with end-user experience is used to identify issues in the different network domains. The performance optimizers leverage the output of the other modules to automatically generate a recommended parameter setting for the affected and/or surrounding cells (in the case of interference issues, for example).
