With over 30 years of experience in human resources and organizational leadership, Fernanda Tomás has built a career defined by transformation, people-centric leadership, and strategic impact. She has a Master of Laws and a post-graduate degree in Management and Business Administration.

Today, she serves as VP and Head of People for Europe, Middle East, and Africa at Ericsson, where she leads a complex, multi-country HR organization, shaping how thousands of employees grow, connect, and thrive.

Fernanda’s journey with Ericsson began in 1997 and spans a range of pivotal leadership roles. Before stepping into her current position in May 2025, she served for a year as Head of People for Europe and Latin America, following nearly seven years as Head of People Networks Delivery for the same regions. In these roles, she led initiatives that strengthened workforce connectivity, streamlined operations, and supported Ericsson’s transformation across diverse markets.

From 2010 to 2017, as VP HR Region Mediterranean, she aligned talent strategies across multiple countries with Ericsson’s broader goals. In parallel (from 2002 to 2022) she also served as Portugal Country Manager, guiding Ericsson through two decades of technological evolution and business growth in the local market.

Earlier in her career, Fernanda was VP Business Support Iberia, overseeing everything from HR and health and safety to internal communications across Portugal and Spain. As HR Director Portugal between 1997 and 2008, she laid the groundwork for a more integrated, future-ready HR function.

Before joining Ericsson, Fernanda held senior HR roles at Barclays Bank Portugal and Allied Signal Automotive, where she developed deep expertise in organizational development, leadership coaching, and change management.

A strong advocate for diversity, inclusion, and innovation, Fernanda brings warmth, clarity, and conviction to everything she does. Her leadership is rooted in the belief that empowered people are the key to sustainable business success and she continues to champion cultures where individuals can bring their best selves to work.
